How to Play: Interaction and Navigation Guidelines

Welcome to the interactive experience! Below, you’ll find the basic controls, system requirements, and instructions on how to start the game to ensure the best possible gameplay. To run the exercise, please unrar the files and then execute the Module(x).exe file of each module, where x is the module number.

  • Use the WASD keys to move around:
    • W: Move forward
    • A: Move left
    • S: Move backward
    • D: Move right
  • Move the mouse to look around.
  • Press Esc to open the main menu.
  • Press Exit to leave the game.
  • Press E to interact with objects in the environment.
  • Press E to inspect items closely.
  • Press E to hold objects.
  • Press E to drop objects you're holding.
  • Press E to carry objects around.
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor 3.80 GHz or Intel Core i5-8400
  • Memory: 8-12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 580
  • Storage: 5-10 GB free space

For a high-end PC with realistic, AAA-level graphics or physics:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM or more
  • Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
  • Storage: 5-10 GB free space

Module 1 - Exercise:“Hazard Hunt”

Feel free to navigate to the different rooms, inspect equipment and find all potential hazards in the given time. (each time you enter the game, there will be different hazard setting)

Once you identify a hazard, you can fill in a brief description of the hazard and why it’s a concern.

After all hazards are identified or the available time is over, you need to prioritize them based on the importance of the potential outcomes.

After that, for each hazard, you need to select the most appropriate mitigation strategy from a list of options. This includes the needs of both disabled and non-disabled individuals.

Module 2 - Exercise:"Accessible Evac: Empowering Accessible Evacuation and Emergency Communication for All."

This VR exercise is designed to enhance your skills in ensuring accessible evacuation and effective emergency communication. The Exercise is divided into two parts:

Part 1: Preparing the site
In this section, you will focus on preparing the location for the occurrence of an emergency incident. You should ensure the site is ready for any emergency situation.

Part 2: Response and Coordination During the Emergency
In this section, you will be actively involved in responding to an emergency incident. You will coordinate actions, make critical decisions, and ensure effective communication to manage the situation efficiently.

Get ready to immerse yourself in this vital training exercise. Let’s begin!

Module 3 - Exercise:"Evacuation Assistance for Individuals with HEARING Impairments"

Users learn how to communicate emergency instructions to colleagues with hearing impairments during a fire emergency. Additionally, users learn how to react and safely evacuate in heavy smoke.

Module 4 - Exercise: “Safe way out for a person on a manual wheelchair”

Users will practice how to prepare an office environment for the possible evacuation of disabled wheelchair user, which will mainly focus on keeping an accessible escape route and reducing potential risks of injuries.

Users will also practice rules which are important to follow in case of fire danger in a next room which are recommended for both healthy and disabled people.

Users will also find out important recommendations connected with safe evacuation of disabled wheelchair user.

Module 5 - Exercise:"Emergency Evacuation with a wheelchair"

Users learn how to navigate an emergency evacuation scenario with a person with mobility impairment.

Users understand how to utilize assistive technologies and receive assistance from others during evacuation.

Users understand the role of psychological support during emergency situations.

Module 6 - Exercise: "Emergency Coordination for Inclusive Response"

Users learn how to effectively coordinate emergency responses while accommodating diverse communication needs and supporting individuals with disabilities.

Module 7 - Exercise:"Workplace Evacuation Challenge: Navigating a Building with Peripheral Vision Impairment"

Employees gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties encountered by colleagues with peripheral vision impairments during emergency evacuations in the workplace.

The exercise fosters empathy and encourages employees to consider accessibility and inclusivity in emergency preparedness and workplace design.
